Skin Deep trailer launch and fundraiser
To mark the beginning of Skin Cancer Action Week, skin cancer survivor Monica Zanetti is launching her film “Skin Deep” on Wednesday 20th November 2013 at The Enmore Theatre, Newtown.
At 23 years old Monica Zanetti was diagnosed with life threatening Melanoma cancer. Grateful for her survival, Monica now wants to inspire a nation of sun conscious Australians.
“This is the kind of cancer that counts on people being aware. Awareness is the best weapon. I don’t want anyone to go through what I went through.” Says Monica.
According to the Cancer Council Australia, two in three Australians will be diagnosed with skin cancer before age 70. Around 2000 Australian’s die each year from skin cancer.
In an effort to raise awareness that the threat of skin cancer is real, Monica wrote and starred in the film “Skin Deep” when she was cleared of the cancer.
